Open Days were held at Gubkin University

On 27 November 2022, the Open Days were held at Gubkin University. Prospective students willing to become part of Gubkin University team participated in the event held in the Palace of Culture «Gubkinets».

The Open Days are a traditional event organized by the University every semester, which helps prospective students to get better understanding of the academic training offered at the University, application requirements and student's life.

About 1700 prospective students visited Gubkin University to learn about the prospects for higher education in the oil and gas field.

The event program included a video presentation about Gubkin University, shot by the student television, and a concert show prepared by various student creative and sports teams.

After the concert show, Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, delivered a welcoming speech addressed to the prospective students and their parents. Professor Martynov gave an introductory lecture “Specialist in the oil and gas complex is the profession of the future”, in which he outlined the importance of oil and gas, listed the factors affecting energy consumption in the world, brought the top 10 countries in terms of proven oil and gas reserves, as well as told about the largest oil and gas facilities. At the end of the lecture, Professor Martynov demonstrated the results of monitoring of the employment of graduates in 2021.

“Gubkin University is a classic industrial university, the main goal of which is to serve Russia. Considering the role and importance of the fuel and energy complex in the country, with our distances and our capabilities, of course, this will always be a state industry in demand. Despite the pressure on the oil and gas sector and on our country, we are firmly convinced that Gubkin University graduates will definitely find work. Being a university student is not only about studying, it is about the best years of life that lay the foundation for the future,” said Professor Martynov.

To provide the prospective students with more details about the faculties, academic programs, admission requirements, and the academic process, the faculty meetings were held afterwards. In addition, during these meetings the prospective students got a chance to see Gubkin University classrooms, laboratories and technical equipment available at various faculties.
