Professional Development

Gubkin University offers a wide range of professional development programs that are delivered by the Center of Innovation Competencies.

The programs are mainly designed for university graduates and industry professionals and include professional development, professional retraining and individual professional training. Annually nearly 4,000 managers and professionals from oil and gas companies from Russia, CIS and overseas countries complete training in the Center.

The programs are delivered by dedicated, qualified and experienced lecturers. Over 500 qualified faculty members, specialists from research centers, authors and developers of original systems and techniques, equipment and training simulators, experienced production workers and international experts are involved annually in the academic process of the Center. Unique proprietary training methodologies and distance technologies are applied during the coursework.

The Center is equipped with up-to-date training aids such as full-scale simulators, computerized courseware and modern laboratory equipment which are used extensively during the learning process.

Professional development programs cover the entire spectrum of professional activity within the oil and gas enterprise, including:

Geology
Drilling
Production
Oil and gas pipeline transport
Engineering, construction and rehabilitation
Natural gas and LNG distribution
Oil refining and gas processing
Oil products transport, storage and distribution
Automation
Electrical and power engineering, environmental engineering, industrial safety

Within these areas, over 300 programs are offered annually with the customized and updated content according to professional level and management progress. Some programs are designed as part of long-term cooperation agreements with leading Russian and international oil and gas companies such as Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, Transneft, BP, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Total, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes etc. Professional development programs are offered both in English and Russian. Upon successful completion of the program, participants receive the state-recognized certificate on professional training.
