Gubkin University marked the Day of Russian Science
On the Day of Russian Science, Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, delivered a message of congratulations to colleagues, scientists, faculty members and students.
“On February 8, we traditionally celebrate one of the professional days honoring those who contribute to an important area of the society. Throughout the human history, science remains the key driver of the scientific and technological progress, the most important component of the national wealth, the powerful resource for the development of the economy, education and the entire social sphere, while scientists – the main human capital and the elite of the society. Today, despite the challenges faced by our country, Russian scientists continue the glorious traditions of higher education and prove daily with their discoveries, dedication and diligence that Russia is one of the main sources of manpower. Over the centuries, outstanding Russian scientists have made many important discoveries that brought great benefits to the whole world, as well as fame and recognition to the scientists” – noted Viktor Martynov. On this day, he also wished not to stop and continue searching and moving forward our country with discoveries!
Based on the results of 2022, the leaders in science at Gubkin University became the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry, the Center for Modeling and Optimization of Technological Processes of Hydrocarbon Deposits and the Department of Computer Aided Design of Oil and Gas Industry Facilities.
Within the federal project "Development of Human Capital in the Interests of Regions, Industries and the R&D Sector" of the national project "Science and Universities", young promising researchers established the Laboratory of Nanostructured Materials and Catalytic Processes for Carbon-Containing Raw Materials Processing and the Laboratory of Functional Energy-Saving Hybrid Materials.
In 2020, within the implementation of the Decree No. 538 of the Government of the Russian Federation of 30 April 2019, Gubkin University established the branch of the world-class Scientific Center «Rational Development of Liquid Hydrocarbon Reserves of the Planet» specialized in studying and developing production technologies for fields in the late stage of their development. The Center is a part of the consortium of four universities, which in addition to Gubkin University includes Kazan Federal University, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
