Tashkent branch of Gubkin University celebrated 10th anniversary

On December 3-7, 2017 Gubkin University delegation visited the branch in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A special event was held to celebrate 10th anniversary of the branch in the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre named after Alisher Navoi.

By the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Gubkin University was awarded the Order of Friendship for substantial contribution to training of highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan. Throughout the history of independent Uzbekistan, Tashkent branch of Gubkin University is the only foreign higher educational institution honored with the highest state award.

As part of the visit, the working meeting on development of international cooperation and academic process was held. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister for Education and Science of the Russian Federation Lyudmila Ogorodova. The Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov, the Vice-Rector for Education at Gubkin University Marina Filatova, the Vice-Rector for international affairs at Gubkin University Alexander Maksimenko, the Vice-Rector for Academic Work at Gubkin University Vladimir Koshelev, the Head of the Office for Student Employment Assistance Anton Tumanov and the Deputy Director of the Branch in Tashkent Abdulla Magrupov became participants of the meeting.

In addition, at a special event the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov awarded the best students of the branch the honorary badges famous as the Stars of Gubkin University.

Today the branch of Gubkin University in Tashkent is one of the most prestigious universities in the Republic. Its main task is to train highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the educational programs adopted by Gubkin University as well as the goals and objectives of the National Program for Training of Personnel in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
