Gubkin University joined the scientific and educational consortium “Energy of the Future”

On 5 September 2022, Gubkin University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, MGIMO University, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Moscow Power Engineering Institute signed the memorandum of understanding intended to establish the scientific and educational consortium “Energy of the Future”. The initiative belongs to the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and aims to effectively solve the problems of developing the fuel and energy complex.

The main strategic goal of this cooperation is the integration of educational, scientific, expert and technological resources for sustainable and innovative development of the national fuel and energy complex as well as strengthening and maintaining the positions of the Russian Federation in the global energy sector.

The consortium will serve as a consulting and coordinating platform for the development of human resources in the fuel and energy sector. The key objective of the new network established on the basis of the Russian Energy Agency and the leading Russian universities is the assistance in creating an effective training system for the Russian fuel and energy complex which will provide the industry with highly-qualified specialists equipped with unique competencies and skills.

As part of the consortium activities, it is planned to establish expert groups that will analyze and identify promising scientific and educational areas and propose themes for educational programs and scientific research. Gubkin University is mandated to analyze modern technologies for the production and processing of hydrocarbons.

The consortium will also conduct joint research and development work for energy companies, collaborate with organizations of the real sector of the economy, governmental organizations and representatives of the scientific and expert community.
