The Open Day was held at Gubkin University

On 26 November 2023, the Open Day was held at Gubkin University. Prospective students willing to become part of Gubkin University team participated in the event.

The Open Days are a traditional event held at Gubkin University every semester, which helps prospective students to get better understanding of the offered academic training, application requirements and student's life. This time more than 2,000 prospective students attended the Open Day to obtain information about the prospects for higher oil and gas education and further employment.

The event began with a video presentation – a film about the University produced by Gubkin University TV, followed by a welcoming speech from Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University.

“The Open Day is a very important event since we are facing a serious issue of student recruitment. There is no problem to recruit people, the competition is high, but to recruit good quality candidates is a serious task, because our industry is state-owned, basic, and we need responsible candidates who are ready to put public interests above their own. Our university teaches traditional values, adaptability, patriotism and hard work as we prepare specialists for a particular lifestyle. We support old traditions and create new ones, and we invite you to join us!” – noted Rector Viktor Martynov.

The official part of the event was followed with a concert organized by creative teams of Gubkin University. Afterwards, Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, Professor Vladimir Koshelev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Viktor Telkov, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, outlined the rules and requirements for admission to the University in 2024.

Following the official part, the faculty meetings were held with the participation of deans, faculty members and student activists. During these meetings, prospective students were provided with more details about the faculties, academic programs and admission requirements.
