The football tournament for Gubkin University Cup was held at Luzhniki Olympic Complex

On September 2, 2018, on the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers, the fuel and energy companies played at Luzhniki Olympic Complex for the title of a holder of Gubkin University Cup. The event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of Moscow Mining Academy. The football team representing Industrial Trade Alliance became the winner.

The charitable football event for Gubkin University Cup is traditionally dedicated to the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day, and organized by the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni since 2005.

This year 13 teams participated in the football tournament, including 11 teams representing oil and gas companies as such as Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, Transneft, Mosgaz, SIBUR Holding, Tatneft, Chernomortransneft, RN-Trans, Siberian Service Company, Gazprom Flot, Industrial Trade Alliance, as well as the student team of Gubkin University.

Before the start of the tournament, the Chairman of the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni Alexander Kochnev read the official message from the President Vladimir Putin to oil and gas industry workers of Russia.

The tournament was opened by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, the Vice-Rector for Education at Gubkin University, Professor Marina Filatova and the Vice-Rector for Academic Work at Gubkin University, Professor Vladimir Koshelev.

“On behalf of the University leadership, we congratulate all participants on this Day, we thank the management of oil and gas companies for their participation in the University tournament, and we are grateful to you that on this day you are with us. We wish you to win!”- said the Vice-Rector for Education at Gubkin University Marina Filatova.

According to the tournament results, the winner and the holder of Gubkin University Cup in 2018 became the football team from Industrial Trade Alliance.
