The educational laboratory named after Igor Mishchenko was opened at Gubkin University

On 13 February 2024, a training laboratory for computer modeling of reservoir systems was opened at the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation of Gubkin University.

The laboratory was named after Igor Mishchenko, an outstanding professor whose scientific work made enormous contribution to fundamental issues in the development of oil fields and well production of oil. Since 1967, Igor Mishchenko had worked for Gubkin University, developing professionally from a teacher to a head of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation (1988 – 2020).

The opening of a new computer laboratory at the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation will help to improve the learning process in modeling the development of hydrocarbon fields for undergraduate, specialist and graduate students.

In 2023, the auditorium block 224 was also renovated, which includes a teaching office and a department classroom. During the opening ceremony, the University leadership visited the training laboratory for well oil production named after Ivan Muravyov, which was renovated in 2022.
