The Department of Russian Language of Gubkin University completed its fall-semester project “Walks around Moscow”
In the fall semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, the Department of Russian Language organized a number of activities for international students of the Preparatory Course and international students taking their undergraduate and graduate studies at Gubkin University. The activities were held within the Walks around Moscow project and included such excursions as:
- Ancient and innovative Moscow: Varvarka and Zaryadye (October 2023)
- Trading Moscow. Nikolskaya and Ilyinka Streets (November 2023)
- Theater Moscow (December 2023)
- Unknown country – Zamoskvorechye (January 2024)
International students from Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, China, Congo, Guinea-Bissau, India, Indonesia, Rwanda, Syria and Vietnam took part in the project.
In-depth preliminary training in Russian language and regional studies helped international students better perceive information during excursions. Thanks to the faculty members of the Department of Russian Language – Ms. Elena Guseva, Ms. Ekaterina Dvorkina and Ms. Elena Papilova, international students understood the uniqueness of each historical district of Moscow and saw Moscow with new eyes.
