The captain of the Russian national football team 2018 Igor Akinfeev met with Gubkin University students

On October 17, 2018 the captain of the Russian national football team 2018 Igor Akinfeev met with Gubkin University students in the Palace of Culture “Gubkinets”. The event was organized with the support of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Union of Creative Students.

Before the meeting, Gubkin University students and staff members were offered to address questions, the best of which were asked by the moderator during the open interview with the football player. The meeting began with questions about the World Cup, held in Russia in summer 2018. Igor Akinfeev told about the preparation of the national team for the Cup, the experience of communicating with journalists and the responsibility to the fans, which was place on the team during the home tournament. Igor Akinfeev touched the topic of relations with the head coach Stanislav Cherchesov and the atmosphere within the team. In addition to the life of the national team, the footballer told about his native club CSKA – opened some facts about the beginning of his career, and the team nowadays.

This summer, Igor Akinfeev became a Master’s degree student of Gubkin University. His choice to become a student he explained by his desire to try something new and his aspiration never stop to develop. The oil and gas industry is a new area for him.

At the end of the meeting, everyone could ask Igor Akinfeev a question. The students were interested mainly how to catch up with everything, what Igor Akinfeev plans to do after the end of his career of a professional football player, and how his first workouts looked like.
