Open Day

On December 1, 2024, the Open Day was held at the Gubkinets Palace of Culture named after V.N. Vinogradov for applicants wishing to join the ranks of Gubkin University students.

At the Open Day, applicants got acquainted with the study programs, the faculty, and student life. More than two thousand people visited Gubkin University to obtain information about the prospects for higher oil and gas education at the specialized university.

An excursion program was held before the start of the main program, around the testing grounds on the university territory, during which the applicants visited: the Offshore Drilling Center, the L.V. Pustovalov Mineralogical and Petrographic Museum, the S.S. Nametkin Educational and Educational Museum of Oil Chemistry and a virtual oil refinery, as well as the "Fundamentals of Automation of Technological Processes" laboratory.

The event began with an opening speech by the rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov.

"Dear guests of Gubkin University, we are glad to welcome you to the Open Day! Throughout its history, our university has been training personnel for the oil and gas industry. It is actively developing, occupying leading positions in authoritative Russian rankings, working for the benefit of the country. Studying with us is not easy, but it is educational and interesting. I wish you successful preparation for the exams and hope to see you again, this time as our students!" the rector emphasized in his speech.

State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anastasia Bondarenko also spoke at the event.

"Minerals: oil, gas and coal - are an indispensable source of the resource base for the production of the main product in the life of every person - electrical and thermal energy. Therefore, choosing the profession of an oil and gas worker, you become part of a powerful production complex of our country. I wish you to make the right choice, good luck!" - Anastasia Bondarenko noted in her speech.

The ceremonial event continued with a festive concert with the participation of creative student groups. During the concert program the following artists performed at the stage of the Gubkinets Community Center: soloists of the Vdokhnovenie vocal studio under the direction of Lyudmila Tsakaeva and Alexander Maslov, a soloist of the Gubkin University instrumental studio Adagio under the direction of Tatyana Taradanova, the Gubkin University Cossack ensemble Stanitsa Gubkinskaya under the direction of Ekaterina Tolstyakova, students of the Faculty of Integrated Safety of the Fuel and Energy Complex Roman Kurtov, Daria Mayorova, Daria Gradova, a student of the Faculty of Engineering Mechanics Alisa Lavrova, a student of the Faculty of International Energy Business Polina Lomteva, a first-year student of the faculty Arina Sorokina, students of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology Daria Khoptovaya, Ksenia Vayman, Margarita Znachkova, the Volkhova folk dance studio under the direction of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Valentina Nikolaeva, a student of the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics and Oil and Gas Kristina Guzenko, a dance studio under the direction of Olga Bocharnikovs, a student of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development Yulia Sokolova, the university cheerleading team "Barrel" led by Natalia Barkova, the studio of sports ballroom dancing "Crystal" led by Alena Stadnik, the studio of rhythmic gymnastics led by Radmila Eminova, the dance studio led by Alexey Golosov and the choir of the Military Training Center led by David Karapetyan.

After the concert, the rector Viktor Martynov, the vice-rector for academic work Vladimir Koshelev and the responsible secretary of the admissions committee Viktor Telkov spoke on stage in front of the applicants. During the meeting, the speakers answered all the questions of interest to applicants and their parents.

After the official part, the program of the event continued with meetings of the faculties, including the faculty deans, faculty and student activists, at which future applicants were able to ask more detailed questions about admission to the university.
