Gubkin University presented the Development Program 2021–2030 for review to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation
The Commission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has started its work towards reviewing the applications that were earlier submitted by universities as part of the Priority 2030 Program. Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, presented the program for the development and transformation of the University up to 2030.
«Priority 2030 is the most ambitious government program in the history of the country aimed to support universities. All participants will receive a powerful impetus for development. We have ensured maximum transparency and clarity of all selection procedures. 187 university teams will present their projects for defense. I am sure that the development principles that are laid down in the strategic projects of universities will benefit both the universities themselves and the entire system of higher education,» said Mr. Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The development program implies the transformation of Gubkin University from an industry- specific institution to University 4 that has an ecosystem for the management of scientific research and academic collaboration between specialists, and for the consolidation of world scientific and educational resources. The development program proposes three strategic projects that respond to the modern challenges of energy transition, decarbonization and the need to create import-advanced technologies and equipment for the fuel and energy complex, including hybrid materials and processes for decarbonization of the economy; creation of import-leading technologies and systems for testing equipment in the fuel and energy complex; low carbon energy systems and petrochemical products.
«What is said today will have to be implemented by universities by 2030, and this will be the major challenge of the time: to fulfill the undertaken commitments,» emphasized Rector Viktor Martynov.
During the first day, 13 university teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Omsk, Saratov and Irkutsk presented their projects. The last stage will end on 25 September 2021.
