Gubkin University enlarged the community of oil and gas industry leaders
On June 23, 2017 the Graduation Ceremony was held in the Palace of Culture "Gubkinets" at Gubkin University. Nearly 3,000 young specialists have been trained by the University for the oil and gas industry and graduated this year. Honors diplomas and honorary awards famous as the Stars of Gubkin University were handed out to best University graduates.
The event brought together more than 1,000 graduates and their parents, and honored guests. Honors diplomas to best university graduates were handed out by the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov.
In 2017 2,567 Russian graduates, including 132 specialists, 1,267 bachelor’s degree and 932 master’s degree holders, and 236 international graduates have left the University. In addition, 249 bachelor’s degree holders and 7 international graduates left the Orenburg branch, and 149 bachelor’s degree holders – the Tashkent branch.
The Graduation Ceremony 2017 was opened by a welcome speech made by the Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov who congratulated graduates, their parents, faculty and staff. "Training of specialists at the University is a cycle process and similar to the change of seasons in nature. Just the other day we launched the enrollment campaign, and today we welcome our graduates who are totally equipped for the industry. This process has been going on continuously since 1930! Today, as always, our specialists are needed by the industry and on labor market. This is confirmed by the current ranking of universities according to the employer’s demand in which Gubkin University has been consistently among the top-3 for many years. Our common goal is to educate the future generation of specialists in this uneasy era of constant changes. I am confident that our graduates are able to take responsibility and offer effective solutions. It provides deep knowledge of oil and gas processes and unique systemic thinking which they were capable to develop with the help of our faculty members. For over 87 years, the University community has reached more than 100 000! This is an entire intellectual army which has made a significant contribution to development of our country. Gubkin University is a university of talented people!" – said Viktor Martynov.
The University graduates were also greeted by the representatives from the Ministry for Energy of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science, Gazprom, Rosneft, Transneft, LUKOIL and others.
The University complex of unique full-scale simulators, the virtual environment of the professional activity and innovative teaching and learning approaches make it possible for Gubkin University to train high-quality specialists many of whom lead the major oil and gas companies, achieve significant results in science and public work, make career in sports and manage multinational companies in Russia, Asia and Europe.
