Gazprom Neft football team became the winner of Gubkin University Cup

On September 3, 2017 the fuel and energy companies played at Luzhniki Olympic Complex for the title of a holder of Gubkin University Cup. Gazprom Neft G-drive football team became the winner.

The charitable football event for Gubkin University Cup is dedicated to the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day and is organized by Gubkin University, the Foundation of Gubkin University Alumni with participation of the Non-profit organization Sport-TEK since 2005.

The goal of the tournament is to strengthen the ties between the University, oil and gas industry companies and graduates as well as to promote sports and healthy lifestyle.

The tournament was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Work at Gubkin University, Professor Vladimir Koshelev.

The University students – members of the cheerleading, step aerobics and gymnastics teams performed and demonstrated their sports skills during the opening ceremony.

This year 12 teams participated in the football tournament, including 11 amateur teams representing the oil and gas companies such as Gazprom Neft, LUKOIL, Rosneft, NOVATEK, SIBUR Holding, Tatneft, Transneft, RN-Trans, SG-Trans, Gazpromtrans, Rail Garant and the student team of Gubkin University.

According to the tournament results, the holder of Gubkin University Cup became Gazprom Neft football team – Gazprom Neft G-drive.
