Knowledge Day at Gubkin University

On 1 September 2019, Gubkin University hosted a special event to celebrate the Day of Knowledge. This year, the University welcomes over 3,000 newcomers.

Traditionally, the event was opened by a welcome speech made by the Rector of Gubkin University, Professor Viktor Martynov. “Gubkin University remains the leader in higher education of the country, occupying the leading positions in science, sport and arts! Gubkin University is a big team, a big family! My congratulations on the Knowledge Day!”, - noted Viktor Martynov.

Representatives from the government, including the Assistant Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Kirill Molodtsov and the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anastasia Bondarenko, as well as the representatives of the leading Russian and international companies – Transneft, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, MOSOBLGAZ, LUKOIL, Schlumberger, BP in Russia came to congratulate the newly admitted students, faculty and staff members.

During the event, the participants were offered to attend the lecture “Prospects for the development of the oil and gas industry in Russia: hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves” delivered by the Head of the Specialized Department of Oil Recovery Technologies for Facilities with Problematic Conditions at Gubkin University, Doctors of Technical Sciences Kirill Strizhnev.

More than a thousand of newly admitted students came together for this welcoming ceremony held in the Palace of Culture "Gubkinets". The celebrating event closed with a bright show and a concert with participation of student performance groups, which were broadcast live on the Internet.
