On 14-18 November 2022, the XIV All-Russian Conference of Young Scientists, Specialists and Students "New Technologies in the Gas Industry" (gas, oil, energy) was held at Gubkin University on the initiative of PJSC Gazprom.

The conference was aimed to engage young professionals in the fuel and energy complex and the Russian oil and gas sector, in particular, to meet the challenges in areas covering the entire production cycle of PJSC Gazprom organizations: from prospecting and exploring mineral resources to marketing of finished products.

In 2022, more than 300 scientific papers in 15 thematic areas from 78 organizations were submitted to the conference. The key speakers at the conference were specialists and young scientists from 68 subsidiaries of PJSC Gazprom, as well as students from ten flagship universities.

The conference was opened with a welcoming message on behalf of Mr. Alexey Miller, Chair of Gazprom Management Committee, Deputy Chair of Gazprom Board of Directors, delivered by Mr. Andrey Balobin, Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom.

The plenary session continued with a presentation “Specialist in the Oil and Gas Complex is the Profession of the Future” by Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, and a presentation “Trends in the Development of Innovative Technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry” by Mr. Maxim Nedzvetsky, Deputy Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom, General Director of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC. At the end of the session, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Gubkin University and Gazprom Proektirovanie LLC. Within the developed program of activities, it is planned to jointly conduct relevant research work and launch interdisciplinary team projects (including establishment of laboratories, technology parks and project offices) aimed at solving applied problems and developing additional business skills, competencies and knowledge.

The conference program also included breakout sessions in 15 different areas. Over 230 scientific papers were presented in two days. The expert commission, which traditionally consists of the heads of PJSC Gazprom departments and the University faculty members, highly appreciated the level of the presented works of young specialists and students. Most of the presentations were of practical importance for the industry and proposed specific ideas for further implementation in the oil and gas industry.
