University Representatives at the XVII International Exhibition CDYPE 2024

From October 29 to 31, 2024, the XVII International Exhibition "China (Dongying) International Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment" (CDYPE 2024) was held in Dongying (People's Republic of China).

The specialized exhibition CDYPE in Dongying is held annually and has already been held for the 17th time. Dongying, located in Shandong Province, is one of the largest centers for the oil and gas equipment manufacturing, with approximately 33% of all Chinese oil and gas equipment manufactured here.

The total exhibition area of CDYPE 2024 took more than 40,000 square meters, including 300 exhibition events, 50 technical program events involving a large number of leading experts and specialists in the oil and gas industry from different countries, including Russia. The exhibition area accommodated about 400 exhibitors.

Gubkin University was represented by the Oil field development and exploitation and Industrial ecology departments. Their developments were of particular interest to the exhibition hosts, thus they were invited to participate with specific topics.

Associate Professor of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation Alexey Dengayev personally visited this exhibition, where he presented modern approaches to remediation of soils technogenically damaged by hydrocarbon spills and waters with increased mineralization.

A convergent (nature-like) technology for the production and application of biomeliorants "OASIS" was presented, applicable for the reclamation of disturbed and oil-polluted lands. As a result of accelerated bioconversion and deep mineralization of organic matter and, as a consequence, stabilization of organic matter and their partial transformation into humus substances, a biocomposite is obtained, which is the main component of nutrient soil. The technology involves the formation of natural and anthropogenic landscapes capable of resisting wind and water erosion.

The technologies proposed by scientists from Gubkin University were demonstrated at an exhibition, where they were used to grow plants upon the technogenically damaged soil in Dongying within 28 hours.

The developments of Gubkin University have attracted the interest of not only Synopec oil workers, but also the city administration, since a special feature of the development of the Shandong oil province is the location of oil facilities directly in the large metropolis of Dongying.
