The strategic session “Environmental legislation of the Russian Federation: interdisciplinary analysis” was held at Gubkin University

On 15 February 2024, the strategic session “Environmental legislation of the Russian Federation: interdisciplinary analysis” was held at Gubkin University. The event was organized by the Department of Public and International Legal Support of National Security of the Faculty of Integrated Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex with the participation of the youth branch of the International Public Organization “Union of Сriminalists and Сriminologists.” The event brought together students of Gubkin University, the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, Kutafin Moscow State Law University, students and cadets of the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Pavel Kalashnikov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at Gubkin University, opened the event with a welcoming speech.

At the plenary session, the participants discussed the issues of legal protection of the environment and interagency cooperation, in particular, supervision and control, interaction with the judiciary, scientific support for legislative enforcement activities, compensation for damage caused to the environment, the role of public organizations in protecting the environment and their collaboration with government agencies, legal protection of the World Natural Heritage Site of Lake Baikal, etc.

During separate sessions, students under the guidance of experts discussed the issues voiced during the plenary session and made presentations addressing these issues.

At the end of the event, on behalf of Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, the participants were awarded diplomas and letters of gratitude.
