Technical Guidelines, developed with the participation of a university employee, were presented to the UN
On December 2, 2024, a high-level presentation of the Technical Guidelines for Protecting Critical Energy Infrastructure from Terrorist Attacks, prepared by the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, was given at the UN Headquarters in New York (USA).
The UN Deputy Secretary-General Vladimir Voronkov welcomed and supported the Technical Guidelines.
The Russian side was represented at the presentation by Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, who thanked Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University), as well as Dmitry Medvedev, Acting Head of the Department (Basic) of International Cooperation in the Sphere of Security, who acted as a consultant for the project.
In the text of the UN Technical Guidelines, the research activities (in particular, the specialized laboratory) of Gubkin University are noted as the best world practice in protecting energy infrastructure.
