II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Information Modeling in Design, Construction and Operation of Oil and Gas Facilities" was held at Gubkin University
On 15 May 2024, Gubkin University hosted the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Information Modeling in Design, Construction and Operation of Oil and Gas Facilities" organized with the support of JSC Neolant Group of Companies. For the second year, the conference is being held with the active participation of the Specialized Department of Designing Hydrocarbon Field Development Systems which celebrated its tenth anniversary in the 2023/2024 academic year.
The conference brought together more than 200 participants from 92 companies representing Russia and the CIS countries, and about 100 specialists joined online.
During the conference, a presentation of solutions in the field of information modeling was held in the demo zone. The characteristics of specialized programs for solving problems of modeling technological processes at oil and gas facilities were introduced to the conference participants. A robotic dog used for laser scanning of a production facility was also demonstrated to the conference participants.
The features of state regulation of information modeling and some aspects of the examination of projects presented in the format of information models were presented by Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
The conference was aimed to strengthen cooperation between specialists engaged in business processes, software developers and higher education representatives in the field of information modeling of industrial facilities at different stages of their life cycle. The conference participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the use of information modeling techniques in design, construction, and operation of industrial facilities. The presentations demonstrated the state of personnel training for the successful digital transformation of the Russian fuel and energy complex.
The Student Scientific Society of Gubkin University contributed actively to organizing the international conference.
