Gubkin University students at Congress "Integrated Petroleum Engineering: Technology. Solutions. People"
On September 14, 2016 the Federal Congress "Integrated Petroleum Engineering: Technology. Solutions. People" was held in St. Petersburg. Gubkin University Master's degree students became participants of the event.
The event was held under the auspices of the Northwest Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and hosted by COMNEWS Group with the support of the general partner Gazprom Neft.
The top managers of Gazprom Neft, Gazpromneft-Scientific and Technical Center, LUKOIL-Engineering, NOVATEK, Shell, Halliburton Consulting, IBK RUS-SIBU (CNPC group), Zarubezhneft, SIBUR, Wintershall, Roxar Services AS (Emerson Group Company), Schlumberger Information Solutions, RUSSOFT Association, Rusgazinzhiniring, Group of companies NEOLANT, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation made reports at the Congress. Speakers shared their global vision and expectations regarding development of integrated petroleum engineering in Russia and worldwide as well as discussed the most interesting and successful projects in this field.
Gubkin University was represented at the Congress by students who successfully went through competitive selection and had the opportunity to make their reports – "Use of artificial intelligence systems in integrated designing" by Maksim Filippov and "Process technology of topside 3D designing of the offshore oil and gas constructions" by Nikita Tarasov. The representatives from participating companies noted the high level of research papers prepared by Gubkin University students and exchanged contacts for further collaboration with them.
In addition, the event program included the round table of the SPE Student Chapters presidents from various Russian universities. Participants shared their experience, discussed development of SPE sections, proposed solutions to existing problems. Gubkin University SPE Student Chapter was represented by its president Alexey Vikhrov who shared experience in implementation of key projects and called to amalgamate interests in promoting SPE mission on the regional level.
The host organizations announced that the Congress is promised to be a traditional industry event and will be held annually.
