Gubkin University representatives participated in the 6th Russian Energy Week International Forum
On 11–13 October 2023, the sixth international forum “Russian Energy Week” was held in Moscow. The Forum brought together government authorities, heads of leading energy companies and organizations, scientists and experts from 84 countries.
The Russian Energy Week is a key international event aimed to demonstrate the prospects of the Russian fuel and energy industry and unlock the potential of international cooperation in energy. The Forum serves as a platform for a discussion of the main challenges faced by the energy sector and topical problems involving the development of the gas, oil and coal industries, petrochemistry, electricity, nuclear power, hydropower, renewable source of power, energy conservation and increased energy efficiency. In 2023, the central theme of the Russian Energy Week was “New Reality of World Energy: Creating the Future”.
Gubkin University students and faculty members contributed to the Forum events.
Together with Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Gubkin University co-organized the Energy Game session within the Youth Day of the Forum to present three Energy Games developed by activists of both universities to strengthen universal competencies.
Mr. Anatoly Fedash, Head of Department of Geoecology, contributed to the round table “Career start in the fuel and energy complex: where to start and what to do to achieve success in the industry” held within the Youth Day to discuss the issues of cooperation between universities in training specialists for the industry.
Mr. Quoc Vinh Trinh, a postgraduate student of the Department of Geoecology, represented Gubkin University by accompanying the Vietnam delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, and participating in the meeting with Mr. Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, held in the format of a Battle of the Generations.
Currently, three postgraduate students and nine undergraduate and graduate students from Vietnam are studying at Gubkin University. In 2023, 15 Vietnamese citizens entered a ten-month preparatory course for prospective international students to enter an academic program at Gubkin University at a later stage.
Students of the Faculty of Law attended the plenary session of the Youth Day, the presentation of the youth global forecast for energy development and, together with other students, participated in the Energy Game session.
