Gubkin University representatives contributed to the discussion on production of control and measuring equipment for fuel and energy companies
On 14 March 2023, Gubkin University representatives participated in the conference "Organization and development of production of control and measuring equipment and system equipment for environmental control for the fuel and energy sector of the Russian Federation" hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The event brought together over 100 representatives of the industry and business community, government authorities and educational institutions.
At the conference, the participants discussed the issues related to improving competitiveness of the national instrument-making industry to ensure the security and development of the fuel and energy sector of Russia in the context of external sanctions pressure. Particular attention was paid to the issues of meeting consumer demand for modern measuring and gas analysis tools, increasing the share of national components in the production of control and measuring devices and the share of Russian equipment in infrastructure projects.
The conference was moderated by Mr. Gennady Shmal, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Energy Strategy and Development of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, President of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers of Russia. Mr. Shmal spoke about the challenges of the Russian oil and gas industry after Western companies left.
In his presentation, Mr. Igor Khrabrov, Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, Head of the Department of Information and Measuring Systems at Gubkin University, noted the importance of training highly qualified specialists in instrument engineering for the implementation of ambitious projects. Mr. Ivan Petrov, Professor of the Department of Geoecology at Gubkin University, spoke about providing oil and gas industry with engineering services, outlined current challenges, factors and recommendations for the development of this area. Ms. Anfisa Kharybina, Engineer of the Department of Geoecology at Gubkin University, delivered a presentation on the development of competencies in the field of sustainable development of the fuel and energy complex among students of specialized universities.
The recommendations worked out during the conference will be forwarded to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the State Duma in order to contribute to the development in Russia of a comprehensive program for the transition to national measuring, control and protection means to strengthen technological and environmental safety in energy, petrochemistry and other industries.
