Gubkin University representatives became the winners of the International Young Scientists Awards 2020 “A Glance into the Future”
Gubkin University students and faculty members are among the winners of the 3d International Young Scientists Awards 2020 “A Glance into the Future” which was finished in December 2020.
The competition was aimed to identify and promote cutting-edge technology and innovation for the oil and gas industry, support and encourage research by young scientists, and enhance international science and technology collaboration.
The International Young Scientists Awards 2020 was held with the support of the Working Group “Modern Technologies and Prospective Oil and Gas Industry Projects” of the International Business Congress (IBC) and the Gas Industry Journal (established by Gazprom).
In 2020 the main research areas included extraction, processing, transportation and storage of hydrocarbons, LNG projects, electric power industry, IT solutions, digitalization and management of oil and gas field development.
Over 120 scientists and research teams registered on the competition website. 44 projects were elected to the second round. The projects were presented by young scientists from Belarus, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Turkmenistan, Ukraine.
According to the results of the competition, Gubkin University students and faculty members are among the prize winners:
- Mr. Aleksey Arkhipov, Associate Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Wells Drilling, received a special prize in the nomination “Digital Implementation” for his work “Predicting complications in the process of drilling based on a neural network”
- Ms. Fakhime Khadavimogaddam, Postgraduate Student of the Department of Oil Field Development and Operation, received a special prize in the nomination “Digital Implementation” for her work “Successful application of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in the development of oil and gas fields”
- Mr. Dauddin Daudi, Chair of the Student Scientific Society of Gubkin University, received a special prize in the nomination “Advanced Development” for his project “Development of polyurea grease lubricants using VHVI-4 paraffin-naphtha oil”
The laureates of the International Young Scientists Awards 2020 “A Glance into the Future” were awarded diplomas and received an opportunity to take internships in IBC member companies. They were also offered to participate in international and Russian industry forums, publish their projects in the Gas Industry Journal and TERRITORIJA NEFTEGAS.
