Gubkin University hosted the Scientific and Practical Student Conference “Integrated Security”
On 6 April 2021, the Scientific and Practical Student Conference "Integrated security" was held at Gubkin University. The event, organized by the Department of Legal Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex and the Department of Integrated Security of Critical Facilities of Gubkin University, was aimed to discuss the relevant issues of the national security of the Russian Federation and the information security as a component of the national security.
Dr. Sergey Grinyaev, Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex, opened the event and welcomed the conference participants.
The conference was chaired by Dr. Vladimir Elin, Deputy Head of the Department of Integrated Security of Critical Facilities, Dr. Anna Zharova, Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex, and Dr. Valery Klimkin, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex.
The program of the conference included two sections and a business game. The sections were structured based on the abstracts submitted by the conference participants. At the sections, the participants discussed the main aspects of the national security, threats to information security and issues related to countering these threats. Special presentations were prepared based on practical experience of working at specific enterprises and organizations, which made the discussion more substantive and constructive. In total, 28 speakers delivered their presentations during the sections.
As part of the business game, arranged by the representative of Infosecurity Company, the conference participants were asked to find solutions to specific practical problems related to information security of an enterprise based on the existing legislation.
In the final part of the event, a plenary session was held to sum up the outcomes of the conference, to articulate the main messages, and to identify the conference prize-holders.
