Gubkin University at the XVI International Energy Forum "EnergySpace"
On December 17, 2024, the XVI International Energy Forum "EnergySpace" was held at the RBC Event Center in Moscow, organized by the Agency for Economic Development.
The "EnergySpace" forum is a professional discussion platform for discussing issues of low-emission energy development, demonstrating modern technological solutions and replicating best practices in the fuel and energy sector. The key topic of the forum: "Energy balance: risks, challenges and opportunities".
The forum participants discussed the place of climate issues in the global energy agenda, the implementation of the seventh UN goal in the field of sustainable development in the context of sanctions pressure on Russia, the importance of increasing energy efficiency in industry, transport and buildings for the sustainable development of the energy sector.
The event was attended by representatives of embassies and business circles of countries such as the UAE, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Venezuela, Malaysia, Brazil, and South Africa.
Gubkin University also took part in the forum.
Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov acted as an invited speaker in the strategic session "Technological Sovereignty in the Gas Industry". The following issues were discussed at the session: ensuring independence from Western technologies, Russian equipment in the interests of the gas industry, development and implementation of new technologies for gas production and transportation, hydrogen projects, and prospects for the development of the LNG segment.
The business program of the forum was attended by the head of the gas chemistry department Firdaves Zhagfarov, deputy head of the department of oil refining technology Elena Chernysheva, document manager of the faculty of design, construction and operation of pipeline transport systems Oleg Ilyin and students of Gubkin University: Veronika Shulgina (group KO-22-13), Daria Semenova (group KP-24-11), Kirill Yarin (group KP-24-11), Alexander Vazyulin (group YUG-24-06), Nikolay Korvyakov (group YUG-24-06), Maxim Golyev (group YUG-24-06), Kristina Tudnikova (group RG-24-07). The forum program also included strategic sessions: "Digital transformation of oil and gas enterprises: domestic solutions and technologies", "Environmental safety of enterprises: climate initiatives of business", “Trends in the development of the electric power industry. When to Expect Sovereignty?” and “Import Substitution in the Oil and Petrochemical Industries”.
