All-Russian Engineering Festival
On September 7-11, 2016, the all-Russian Engineering Festival was held in Taganrog. The Festival was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Academy for Engineering and Technologies of Southern Federal University. Activists from the Student Scientific Society at Gubkin University took part in the Festival and became the winners of the projects competition.
The festival brought together more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students from all over Russia. The event was held in the format of professional competitions, contests, exhibitions and project workshops. As part of the festival, the Vice-president of LLC Siemens Martin Gitsels delivered a lecture and shared his experience with future and young professionals. "The one who can keep track of the information will be ninety-five percent successful," noted Martin Gitsels in his speech.
In addition, the exhibition of achievements of technical creativity, which joined together like-minded people and specialists from the area of IT-technologies, was hold as part of the event.
Activists from the Student Scientific Society at Gubkin University Sergey Frolov, Ilya Sadilov and Alexander Shishkin acquired practical skills in programming, Internet business, information security and robotics during the educational program. Sergey Frolov took the 1st place in the competition for development of mobile applications for virtual reality and was awarded a virtual reality helmet.
Participation of Gubkin University students was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as part of the program aimed at development of activities of student associations.
