Gubkin University entered ТНЕ World University Rankings 2020
On 11 September 2019, the Times Higher Education (THE) published its World University Rankings 2020. Gubkin University entered the list of the world universities for the first time, and was ranked 1001+.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings was launched in 2010 by the British edition “Times Higher Education” (THE) with the participation of the information group “Thomson Reuters” within the framework of the Global Institutional Profiles Project, and is considered one of the most influential global university rankings. It replaced the popular world university rankings, which had been issued since 2004 by the Times Higher Education together with Quacquarelli Symonds. In turn, since 2010 Quacquarelli Symonds has been issuing its own rankings under the name – QS World University Rankings, which is also considered the leading one.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators are used to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments. The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1,400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.
