The opening of the modernized laboratory for working with explosion-proof electrical equipment was held at Gubkin University

On 25 November 2019, the official opening of the modernized laboratory for working with explosion-proof electrical equipment for the oil and gas facilities was held Gubkin University with the support of ZAVOD GORELTEX Co. Ltd.

The Rector of Gubkin University Viktor Martynov expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZAVOD GORELTEX Co. Ltd. Georgy Feodoridi and his colleagues for the cooperation, highlighting the importance and relevance of the innovative laboratory equipment in the oil and gas industry.

The laboratory was established at Gubkin University to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on the operation of explosion-proof equipment, compliance with repair and installation requirements. It is expected that the researchers of Gubkin University and the representatives of the company will deliver lectures in this laboratory.

The laboratory is equipped with eight stands with explosion-proof devices, four of which are developed to study the design features of the company's equipment, while the remaining four are developed for practical training. On the stands, all kinds of explosion-proof electrical equipment are displayed, including terminal boxes, control panels, lamps, and video cameras.

Using the stands, the students will be able to assess the compliance of the installed electrical equipment with the class of the explosive zone, the group of the self-ignition temperature, the category of the explosive mixture, to study the principles of working with various types of explosion protection, as well as to measure the parameters of flameproof joints and conduct a detailed examination of all types of the explosion-proof products.
