The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of the Republic of Chad visited Gubkin University

On 14 June 2024, an official visit to Gubkin University was held by Mr. Tom Erdimi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of the Republic of Chad, Mr. Mahamoud Adam Bechir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to the Russian Federation, and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Chad in the Russian Federation.

Mr. Tom Erdimi is a graduate of Gubkin University (1984), whose thesis was supervised by the USSR State Prize laureate Mr. Vladimir Znamensky, Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects for training specialists and improving the qualifications of current specialists of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Chad at Gubkin University.

Minister Tom Erdimi highly appreciated the contribution of Gubkin University to training specialists for energy companies in foreign countries, noting its relevance for African countries. Mr. Tom Erdimi expressed strong interest in training postgraduate students and training future teachers at Gubkin University for the specialized university of the Republic of Chad.

During a tour of the university, Minister Tom Erdimi also visited places that were memorable to him, recalling his years of studying at Gubkin University.
