Gubkin University signed a cooperation agreement with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University

On 13 September 2022, Gubkin University, as the flagship university in the oil and gas sector of Russia, became one of the participants at St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF-2022) held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

During the first day of the Forum, Gubkin University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University signed a cooperation agreement aimed to expand relationships, implement joint educational and research projects and programs, promote educational, scientific, cultural and information exchange through the implementation of the innovative, intellectual and technical potential of both educational institutions. The document was signed by Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, and Professor Andrey Rudskoy, Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

“The key objective is to accumulate the competencies of the leading universities in the oil and gas field, including LNG and hydrogen, machinery and materials because the oil and gas industry is very complex, it covers many directions that exist in modern science. In addition to science, we should cooperate in training personnel. We hope that both universities and the industry will benefit from this cooperation,” said Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University.

As the university leaders emphasized, cooperation is essential for training highly qualified and competitive personnel for the oil and gas industry. The rectors also noted that Gubkin University and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University are the flagship universities of PJSC Gazprom and the signing of this agreement will be beneficial for two universities as well as for the entire industry of Russia.
