The winners of the II International Olympiad on Gas Processing and Gas Chemistry were awarded

On December 23, 2024, the winners of the II International Olympiad on Gas Processing and Gas Chemistry, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Department of Gas Chemistry, were awarded. The Olympiad was attended by 241 people from 43 organizations and five countries, including 182 students and postgraduates from 22 educational organizations and 59 young specialists. The winner of the Olympiad was Elena Anisimova, a young specialist from the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant of Gazprom Pererabotka LLC.

The Olympiad was held in two rounds with the support of specialized organizations: Gazprom Pererabotka LLC, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC, Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC, Gazprom LNG Portovaya LLC, and PAO SIBUR Holding, which provided prizes and some of the tasks.

The final stage of the Olympiad was held on December 13, 2024. 24 finalists had to solve five tasks from different areas of the gas processing and gas chemical industries.

The winner of the Olympiad was Elena Anisimova, a young specialist at the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant of Gazprom Pererabotka LLC.

The second place was shared by Alexander Berdyshev, a third-year student at Gubkin University (group СHT-22-02), and Emil Sharafutdinov, a second-year master's student at the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University.

Gubkin students Bulat Kuramshin (group СHT-21-01), Roman Zakharov (group СHT-21-02) and Aleksey Ivanov (group СHT-21-06) also won prizes.

The awards and prizes were presented in a ceremonial setting by Vice-Rector for Research Pavel Kalashnikov, Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Ecology Boris Tonkonogov and Head of the Department of Gas Chemistry Firdaves Zhagfarov at a meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Ecology.

Pavel Kalashnikov noted that the Olympiad helped identify talented students and specialists with deep knowledge in the field of gas processing and gas chemistry, and also provided an incentive for development in this area.

Firdaves Zhagfarov thanked all the participants of the Olympiad for their interest, wished them success in their professional activities, and invited them to participate in future Olympiads.
