Gubkin University organized the professional development course Researcher Connect
On October 31 – November 3, 2017 Gubkin University organized the professional development course Researcher Connect. The course was designed by the British Council with the support of Shell.
Researcher Connect was aimed at development of communication skills necessary in the innovation life cycle – from receiving grants, establishing international partnerships to preparation of successful publications and speeches in English, including the use of modern online tools to increase the visibility and citation of research works and presentations.
The course was conducted by the professional instructor with wide experience of international research programs Dr. Adair Richards.
The course included several modules such as the foundation module, abstracts, academic writing, persuasive proposal and the art of presentation.
A significant part of the course was devoted to mastering skills of successful self-presentation and holding the audience.
The Researcher Connect brought together 18 faculty members and students from Gubkin University. Working in teams under the guidance of the instructor, the participants got familiar with the art of audience analysis, secrets of successful research publication, effective techniques and basic tools for writing academic papers and abstracts.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants received certificates.
