Gubkin University faculty members became speakers of the Forum “Cybersecurity: Present Days. Industrial Technologies”
On 16-19 February 2021, the Forum “Cybersecurity: Present Days. Industrial Technologies” was held in Magnitogorsk, Russia. Representatives of the Faculty of Integrated Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex of Gubkin University participated in the forum.
The event was organized with the participation of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control and Gubkin University.
The forum program included the following sessions:
- Past, present and future of industrial cybersecurity in Russia
- Cybersecurity of industrial facilities. Best practices
- Methods, processes, technologies for cybersecurity of industrial enterprises
Mr. Alexander Baranov, Head of the Department of Integrated Security of Critically Important Facilities at Gubkin University, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, acted as the forum leader. During the key session “Past, present and future of industrial cybersecurity in Russia”, Mr. Baranov delivered a presentation and highlighted the role of crisis management in ensuring the sustainability of industrial technologies.
Mr. Dmitry Pravikov, Head of the Research and Academic Center for New Information and Analytical Technologies at Gubkin University, entered the Program Committee of the Forum as well as made a presentation “Experience of using the Ampire Training Platform as part of additional professional training” at the thematic session “Cybersecurity of industrial facilities. Best practices”.
Mr. Vladimir Elin, Deputy Head of the Department of Integrated Security of Critically Important Facilities at Gubkin University, became a speaker at the thematic session “Methods, processes, technologies for cybersecurity of industrial enterprises” and discussed the topic of legal aspects to ensure information security when using foreign information technologies.
Ms. Anna Zharova, Head of the Department of Legal Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex at Gubkin University, talked about the legal aspects of certification of SCADA technologies in order to ensure information security at the thematic session “Methods, processes, technologies for cybersecurity of industrial enterprises”.
The event brought together representatives of the fuel and energy complex, industry, communications, transport and other critical information infrastructure entities, government authorities, specialists in the field of information security, and manufacturers of information security systems, specialized analytical and training products.
