Gubkin University delegates at the first Russian-German Conference on Natural Gas
On September 18-19, 2017 the first Russian-German Conference on Natural Gas for graduate and post-graduate students was held in Freiberg, Germany. The event was hosted by Freiberg Mining Academy.
The conference was aimed to become a platform for academic and research collaboration and student exchange between Russian oil and gas universities and Freiberg Mining Academy.
18 reports were presented at the conference on such issues as accumulation of fluid in the well, ways of improving the filter elements, efficiency assessment of associated gas use for creating water-gas mixtures, increase of operational reliability of gas pipeline systems in severe climatic conditions of the north and risk analysis at gas distribution stations.
The conference participants visited the laboratories of Freiberg Mining Academy, including the Reiche Zeche Mine which is currently a research base.
Gubkin University was represented at the conference by students and postgraduate students of the Department of Gas and Gas Condensate Field Development and Operation and the Department of Thermodynamics and Thermal Engines. The delegation was headed by the Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection Ekaterina Fomina.
Following the results of the event, it was decided to hold the Deutsch-Russischer Erdgas-Workshop at Gubkin University in 2018.
