The Faculty Day was held at Gubkin University
On 10 November 2022, the Faculty Day, a career-oriented and educational event for secondary school and TVET students as well as teachers, was held at Gubkin University. This time it was organized for Vologda students of Gazprom Classes.
The Faculty Day at Gubkin University aims to find and support talented young people and strengthen their need for intellectual and creative development, to increase the number of applicants willing to study engineering disciplines at Gubkin University, as well as to educate a generation of future engineers in the oil and gas industry.
The program of the event traditionally includes various formats – educational tours, lectures, master classes, seminars, laboratory workshops, competitions within the framework of which school students have an opportunity to become familiar with the faculties and training centers of Gubkin University.
This time the school students from Vologda spent the whole day at Gubkin University and were able to learn about the history of the University, its faculties and departments, admission requirements for 2023; visited the Offshore Drilling Center, where they got acquainted with modern engineering technologies and unique equipment; and attended the laboratory workshops and master classes delivered by the leading faculty members of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
In total, 91 school students from Vologda and the Vologda Region attended the Faculty Day. After the preliminary professional screening, the young men showed their interest in mechanical engineering and oil and gas field development, while the young women – in chemical and environmental engineering.
The Faculty Day is an effective mechanism for engaging potential applicants and establishing partnerships with urban and rural schools, as well as educational centers of the Russian Federation.
The Faculty Day at Gubkin University was organized by the Educational and Scientific Center for Pre-University Training with the support of Gubkin University administration and Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta.
