University student is a two-time winner of the World Junior Grappling Championship
From October 7 to 12, 2024, Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan) hosted the World Grappling Championship, in which 1,800 athletes from more than 30 countries took part.
The championship was held for the "Grappling" and "Grappling Gi" disciplines for all age groups: up to 15, 17 and 20 years old, as well as adults and veterans.
Grappling has become a mass sport, developing under the auspices of the United World Wrestling international federation, recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
Following the results of the competition, Gubkin University student Vlada Boyakhchieva (group AA-24-08) won two gold medals at the World Junior Championships under 20, as well as a silver medal among adults.
Vlada Boyakhchieva has been involved in wrestling since her youth and is a multiple winner of world and Russian championships, as well as numerous all-Russian tournaments and competitions.
