Gubkin University among the winners of the Russian National Award “Student of the Year – 2017”
On November 15 – 18, 2017 the final of the Russian National Award “Student of the Year – 2017” was held in Simferopol. The winner in the nomination "International student of the year" became Andriy Avramovich, the student of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development at Gubkin University.
Student of the Year is the first national award established by the Russian Union of Youth, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Ministry for Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The key goal of the competition is to identify, support and recognize the merits of students with special achievements in science, art, sports, journalism, youth policy, student leadership and social activities.
The competition is held in three stages. The first stage is a regional one, on the results of which the winners are recommended to participate in the second one – the all-Russian virtual stage. Members of the expert panel select at least 20 students in each competitive nomination for participation in the third stage which is the all-Russian final of the Award.
This year more than 5 thousand students applied for participation in the competition. The final took place at the V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University and brought together 200 participants selected from 62 regions of the Russian Federation. The program of competitive tests of the final included self-presentation, dictation, case study exercises, intellectual games as well as special assignments individual for each nomination.
In the final Gubkin University was presented by students from the Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development Kristina Bodryagina in the nomination "Sportsman of the year" and Andriy Avramovich, the winner in the nomination "International student of the year of educational organizations of higher education".
