Programs

Gubkin University offers training in 39 Bachelor’s, 17 Specialist’s, 50 Master’s and 40 PhD programs.

Bachelor’s and Specialist’s programs are undergraduate academic programs awarded to students upon completion of four-year and five/ five and a half-year university studies respectively. Both types of programs require applicants to hold a secondary school diploma.

Master’s programs are second-cycle academic degree programs awarded upon completion of two-year studies demonstrating mastery or a high-order overview of a specific field. Master’s programs require applicants to hold a Bachelor’s or Specialist’s degree diploma.

Postgraduate school trains academic personnel. Graduating students are awarded a PhD diploma. Postgraduate programs require applicants to hold a Master’s or Specialist’s degree diploma. Gubkin University curriculum offers a two-tier program in postgraduate studies: applicants work from three to four years of studies toward candidate of sciences designation and afterwards from five to fifteen years toward doctor of sciences designation. Both are viewed as an equivalent to PhD.

Academic and research work at Gubkin University is organized by highly qualified faculty. All academic programs are conducted in accordance with State Educational Standards of the university education. The programs are constantly updated to meet modern professional industry standards.

Professional Development

In addition to the main academic programs, Gubkin University offers a wide range of additional professional development programs for university graduates and industry professionals.

Professional development programs are delivered by the Center of Innovation Competencies. Some programs are designed as part of long-term cooperation agreements with leading Russian and international oil and gas companies such as Gazprom, Rosneft, Lukoil, Transneft, BP, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Total, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes etc. Over 300 programs are offered yearly with the customized and updated content according to professional level and management progress. Annually the Center offers training programs for about 4,000 managers and professionals from oil and gas companies from Russia, CIS and overseas countries.
