Foreseeing the upcoming Open Day, we talked about the features and innovations of the 2025 admissions campaign with the responsible secretary of the Admissions Committee Viktor Telkov, as well as with the head of the department for work on the student campus Oleg Klimov.
Admissions Committee
In 2025, the budget allowance for full-time bachelor's and specialist's degree programs is announced at 1,373 places, and for part-time (evening) education, 35 budget places are provided in the spheres of "Economics" and "Management".
In 2025, Gubkin University, when admitting to bachelor's, specialist's and master's degree programs, establishes various forms of submitting documents. The employees of the admissions committee are ready to accept documents from applicants in person, and provide consultations if necessary. It is also possible to submit documents through the applicant's personal account. Applicants can also submit documents through the super service "Online University Admission", this method will allow you to submit consent for enrollment at the right time, even if you are thousands of kilometers away from the university.
Applicants will submit documents for the targeted competition via the Work in Russia portal (through the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (Functions) (EPGU)), where applicants will have access to training offers from employers in all areas and specialties.

The budgetary allowance for full-time master's programs is established at 466 places. There are also 56 places for part-time and part-time programs in the spheres of Oil and Gas Business, Economics, and Management.
In 2025, entrance examinations for the master's program will be conducted remotely, in the interview format. Applicants need to pass only one exam in the corresponding specialty area of admission. At the same time, applicants have four possible dates to choose from for taking entrance examinations: July 1, July 17, August 6 and August 21, 2025, at the applicant's choice. Students applying for fee-paying places, just like in 2024, will undertake entrance examinations in the form of a portfolio, presenting information about their academic achievements.
Traditionally, some master's degree programs are adjusted in response to industry demand. Thus, at the Open Day, the deans of the Faculty of Design, Construction and Operation of Pipeline Transport Systems, the Faculty of Engineering Mechanics, the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering, and the Faculty of Law will talk about new programs.
Moreover, the opportunity to submit documents through the Unified State Portal of Public Services since 2025 is available for applicants to master's and postgraduate programs.

The priority system has proven itself well not only at Gubkin University, but also at other universities in Russia and the world.
Discounts for applicants
For applicants applying for a bachelor's degree and a specialist's degree and planning to study on a commercial basis, with high scores (245-265 points for the sum of three subjects and higher), attractive discounts (10-20%) are established. First of all, this is relevant for applicants to those programs where there are few or no budget places at all: "Economics", "Jurisprudence", "Management", "International Relations", "Legal Support of National Security".

Admission to the branches of the university will take place at the same time as admission to the head university in Moscow. Along with the branches of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) in Orenburg and Tashkent, where admission has been successfully carried out for many years, for the first time in 2025, admission to the branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) in Atyrau (Republic of Kazakhstan) has been announced, which indicates the expansion of international cooperation. Also, an interesting feature of the admission campaign at the branch in Tashkent will be the opportunity to enroll based on the results of the first Gubkin Subject Olympiad for schoolchildren.
Admission of foreign students
Gubkin University actively accepts applicants who are citizens of foreign countries. At the same time, some foreign students are admitted under contracts with both individuals and large oil and gas companies, while others are admitted within the framework of the state budget assignment in the areas of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In order to successfully enroll in fee-paying places in 2025 for all areas and specialties, a foreign student must pass an exam in one subject - the Russian language. Accounting for individual achievements
The university has introduced a practice of rewarding the most talented applicants with additional points upon admission.
Thus, additional points can be received by:
– holders of educational documents with honors - 10 points;
– winners, prize winners and laureates of the conference "School Scientific Society" and the section "School Scientific Society" held within the framework of the conference "Oil and Gas": winner - 10 points, prize winner - 8 points, laureate - 5 points. It should be noted that applications for the section "School Scientific Society" are accepted until February 28, 2025;
– winners and prize winners of school Olympiads and various competitions held at the university: winner - 10 points, prize winner - 5-8 points;
– winners and prize winners of the competition in the oil and gas industry “I would go into the oil industry!” among schoolchildren: winner – 5 points, prize winner – 3 points;

Preparing applicants for individual subjects at the university
Schoolchildren who are still in the 10th grade can pay attention to the preparatory courses at the university. Military Training Center
In 2025, the recruitment of citizens who have expressed a desire to undergo training in the programs for training career officers in the process of mastering the educational program of higher education continues. It should also be recalled that since 2023, the Military Training Center of Gubkin University has continued to recruit girls studying in the bachelor's and specialist's programs who have expressed a desire to undergo training in the programs for training the reserve in the process of mastering the educational program of higher education.

Student Campus
Head of the Department for Work in the Student Campus Oleg Klimov spoke about the living conditions, the check-in procedure and the structure of the student campus.
All out-of-town applicants planning to enroll in Gubkin University for full-time study on a budgetary basis can apply for a place in the dormitory.
The student campus includes five block-type buildings, which are located in close proximity to each other. Each building has common kitchens, study rooms and a student lounge. The campus includes football and volleyball fields, an indoor gym for physical education and cross-fit areas. Also on the campus for students living in the dormitory, various events are held monthly in the Student Leisure Center. Public transport stops, grocery stores, laundries, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance from the dormitories.
The renovation of the multifunctional student center at 2a Volgina Street, with a theater, gym, reading room, canteen, and creative and self-study rooms, has been completed and is being further equipped.
A new dormitory building is currently under construction, which is designed for 750 people.
In the existing buildings, the blocks are standardly equipped with furniture and soft furnishings. Accommodation in the dormitories is in one-room blocks for two people, or two-room blocks for five to six people.
A major overhaul is carried out in the dormitory blocks every year, so in 2024, a major overhaul of three floors of the building at 2/2 Volgina Street was completed, in addition, on a planned basis, repairs are underway in blocks, rooms, and kitchens in all buildings. In addition to the three floors mentioned, another 80 blocks and four kitchens were renovated in 2024.
The university guarantees students safety and decent living conditions. The private security company Gazprom Okhrana operates on the campus, and student task forces make rounds to maintain order in each building.
