Gubkin University delegation laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, representatives of Gubkin University honored the memory of the heroes who died for the independence and prosperity of the Homeland.

On 3 May 2024, the delegation of Gubkin University, led by Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, Mr. Stanislav Shiryaev, Head of Gagarinsky District of Moscow, and Mr. Alexei Lavrenchuk, Head of the Military Training Center at Gubkin University, with the participation of vice-rectors, heads of departments and offices, students of the Military Training Center, laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall in the Alexander Garden.

In July 1941, 255 faculty members and students went to the front and 53 joined the people’s volunteer army, 36 of them remained on the fields of the War forever, and 45 were awarded the medal ‘For the Defense of Moscow’. By the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 26 May 1945, Moscow Oil Institute received the Order of Red Banner of Labor.
