VIII International Intellectual Game “Oil Owl”

On December 3–4, 2026, Gubkin University and the Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and PJSC Gazprom, will hold the VIII International Intellectual Game “Oil Owl”. The call for applications is open until November 1, 2026.

The International Intellectual Game “Oil Owl” is held annually with the aim of raising the intellectual level of young people and building a positive image of the oil and gas industry. The game takes place in two stages. The first stage consists of two semi-finals, in which all registered teams take part. Based on the results of the first stage, the top 15 teams from each semi-final are determined, which earn the right to participate in the final. The second stage (the final) consists of two parts: the first part is similar to the semi-finals, after which the eight best teams compete for the main prize – the “Oil Owl” challenge cup.

Teams (each consisting of five members) from organisations and enterprises of the oil and gas industry and from universities take part in the game. Teams are formed from among young specialists, young faculty members, and students under the age of 35.

To participate in the game, it is necessary to form a team, complete an application on an official letterhead and in an Excel file, and send them to the organisers by November 1, 2026, inclusive.
