A Recreational Evening for International Students to Celebrate the Graduation of New Specialists
On July 6, 2026, Gubkin University held a recital for international students to celebrate the graduation of new specialists. The university currently has over 800 international students from 93 countries. In 2026, the university trained 148 highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students in the oil and gas industry abroad, with 15 graduates receiving honors degrees. After receiving their diplomas, the Class of 2026 will return to 42 countries, many of whom will continue their studies at Gubkin University for master's and doctoral programs.
The graduation ceremony was opened by students Maria Kolarski (Serbia), Pavel Chiosi (Moldova), and Dulce Verissimo and Julia Profil (Mozambique). Vladimir Koshelev, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Anton Tumanov, Vice Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work, addressed the recent graduates, now young professionals, with parting words. Alexander Shcherbina, Head of the International Student Services Department, wished the graduates success in applying the knowledge they gained at the university and presented each graduate with a personalized letter wishing them success in their future careers. Ali Yaya Shiidi, a graduate from Chad, expressed gratitude to the university's leadership, faculty, and staff. He noted the university's significant contribution to preparing graduates for countries desperately in need of specialists for economic development.
Most of the graduates were part of the university's creative team, "I Love You, Russia!", and so the evening featured the song "I Love You, Russia," which students first performed in the spring of 2022. The evening concluded with a vibrant gift—"Song of Moscow"—from graduates from around the world. "I'll never forget a friend if I met him in Moscow," the graduates sang.
During the quiz, the students demonstrated their knowledge of our country's culture and history. They reminisced about excursions, museums, and trips around Russia. They expressed words of sincere gratitude to Russia and the university.
