Gubkin University received gratitude of the Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Mayor of Moscow

The faculty and staff members of Gubkin University were expressed gratitude by Ms. Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow.

On 24 December 2020, at the Academic Council of the University, Mr. Gennady Ordenov, Senator of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, on behalf of Ms. Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, presented gratitude to Gubkin University for the great contribution to the development of education and science, training of highly qualified specialists, and in connection with the 90th anniversary of Gubkin University.

Earlier, during the working meeting with representatives of the local executive bodies of the city of Moscow, Professor Viktor Martynov, Rector of Gubkin University, was presented with the letter of gratitude from the Mayor of Moscow, in which Mr. Sergey Sobyanin thanked the faculty and staff members of Gubkin University for their active participation in city events to prepare and conduct the all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in 2020.

On 17 April 2020, Gubkin University celebrated its 90th anniversary. Since 1930, the University has trained over 100 thousand highly qualified specialists who contributed to the development of the country's oil and gas resources. Today Gubkin University is a leader in research and training of specialists for the oil and gas sector of Russia.

For the 90-year history of Gubkin University, its scientists have been awarded 14 Lenin Prizes and 11 State Prizes of the USSR, 2 Prizes of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, 14 State Prizes of the Russian Federation in science and technology, 18 Prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation, 3 Prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation in science and technology for young scientists. All these reflect the demand and recognition of Gubkin University work by both the industry and the scientific community.
