University students at the Moscow International Model UN named after V.I. Churkin
From April 13 to 18, 2025, Gubkin University students took an active part in the Moscow International Model UN named after V.I. Churkin. The event was dedicated to current issues on the international agenda, including the creation and development of infrastructure for refugee camps in the Gaza Strip.
The event agenda included such issues as the development of humanitarian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip (temporary housing solutions, water supply and sanitation, medical care and support, as well as access to education for children) and mechanisms of international cooperation (the role of the UN in coordinating humanitarian aid, the contribution of non-governmental organizations and ensuring sustainable financing of projects).
Gubkin University was represented by students Al-Tiyabat Falah (group RNM-24-09), Hamwi M. Deeb (group MA-22-03) and Hamdun Najah (group CHNA-24-01). The delegates prepared analytical material on the humanitarian situation, developed and presented draft resolutions, took part in discussions, negotiations and the formation of compromise solutions. As a result of the work, a final resolution was adopted, including a plan for the creation of temporary infrastructure, international financing mechanisms and comprehensive humanitarian initiatives, and professional contacts were established with representatives of other universities. All participants were awarded certificates.
The participation of Gubkin University students in the Moscow International Model UN named after V.I. Churkin represented a valuable practical experience in the field of international relations. The event contributed to the development of analytical and diplomatic skills, as well as a deepening of the understanding of global humanitarian problems. The knowledge and connections gained will form a solid foundation for the further professional development of students.
