University Student Wins European Junior Boxing Championship

The European Boxing Championship was held in Yerevan from November 1 to 10, 2025. Khamzat Matiyev, a student in the EEv-22-02 group of the Faculty of Economics and Management and alumnus of the Moscow State Physical Culture and Sport (MGFSO) Olympic Reserve Boxing School, achieved a resounding victory in the 19-22 age category.

Khamzat Matiyev won the 60-kilogram weight class, defeating Armenian athlete Voskan Voskanyan in the final.

The athlete trains under the guidance of Albert Mutalibov, to whom the Moscow Boxing Federation expressed gratitude for his training. The Russian team demonstrated impressive results, winning 38 gold medals and taking first place overall.
