University delegation laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
On May 6, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, representatives of Gubkin University honored the memory of the heroes who heroically defended the freedom and independence of the country, made possible the prosperity and development of future generations, giving the world a chance for a happy future.
A delegation of Gubkin University headed by Rector Viktor Martynov and Head of the Gagarinsky District Administration of Moscow Stanislav Shiryaev, as well as representatives of the Gagarinsky District Prosecutor's Office of Moscow, with the participation of vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions, as well as students and officers of the Military Training Center, laid a wreath and flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall in the Alexander Garden.
In July 1941, 53 people from Gubkin University went to the people's militia, and 255 employees and students went to the front, 36 remained forever on the battlefields of war, 45 Gubkin residents were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Moscow". By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 26, 1945, the I.M. Gubkin Moscow Oil Institute was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
