The Gubkinites took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory at the Victory Museum
On May 5, 2025, the Victory Museum became the center of the celebrations in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory, where generations of defenders of the Fatherland met.
The events were attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, veterans and representatives of the fuel and energy complex, participants in the special military operation, as well as the rector of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) named after I.M. Gubkin Viktor Martynov and students of the Military Training Center of Gubkin University, which continues the tradition of training highly qualified specialists in the fuel service of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
Students of Gubkin University also helped organize the celebrations as volunteers.
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the participants of the events laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial, paying tribute to the feat of the Soviet people.
“Victory Day is a symbol of the indestructible spirit of our people, their courage and unity in the face of trials. Today, as 80 years ago, we feel the same pride for the generation of victors and the same responsibility for the future of Russia,” emphasized Alexander Novak.
During the meeting with veterans, the Deputy Prime Minister especially noted the role of energy workers during the war.
“Without the reliable operation of the fuel and energy complex, there would be no tanks, no planes, no Victory. In the rear and at the front, energy workers did everything possible and impossible to ensure that the country survived,” added Alexander Novak.
The event was not only a tribute to the feat of generations of defenders of the Fatherland, but also a reminder that the fuel and energy complex is the basis of the country's security and the key to its development.
As Viktor Martynov emphasized, Gubkin University, a leading industry university that trains personnel for key fuel and energy companies, has been pursuing a systemic policy of patriotism and introducing young people to traditional Russian state values since the university was founded.
“Since the beginning of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the university has held 25 patriotic events aimed at preserving historical memory, helping veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and supporting the defenders of the Motherland. Almost two thousand students and teachers took part in them,” Viktor Martynov noted.
Thus, Gubkin residents organized a collection of letters with words of support for soldiers on the battlefields, and transferred 400 kilograms of long-life food products, 105 kilograms of medicines and first aid supplies, as well as other humanitarian aid, to the special military operation zone.
In order to preserve historical memory, students of Gubkin University took part in the motor rally "Victory won by unity" organized by the Association of student patriotic clubs "I am proud", to places of military glory, the federal educational marathon "Knowledge. First", the All-Russian campaign "Garden of Memory" and other events.
Participants in the celebrations at the Victory Museum were among the first visitors to the multimedia exhibition "The Path to Victory", created with the support of the Moscow government for the 80th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War. The museum space tells about the key events of the war years and includes a complex of dioramas that transport the viewer to the days of the Battle of Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, the Siege of Leningrad, the Battle of Kursk, the storming of Berlin and the Victory Parade. About 100 museums - members of the International Project "Territory of Victory" and the Association of Historical and Military-Historical Museums from various regions of Russia and the CIS countries took part in the implementation of the project.
The celebrations ended with a concert called "Energy of the Great Victory". Legendary songs of the war years were performed on stage by stars of pop, theater and cinema.
