The Day of the First-Year Student was held at Gubkin University

On 30 November 2023, the traditional inter-faculty Day of the First-Year Student was held in the Palace of Culture "Gubkinets" at Gubkin University. The concert completed the cycle of creative events that took place from 23 October to 14 November 2023.

The first-year students representing all University faculties participated in the competition, the goal of which was to engage the first-year students in the University life, to develop their creative abilities, as well as to search for new talents.

In 2023, the competition was organized in four categories: best dance performer, best vocal performer, best instrumental performer and best faculty dance performer.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Anton Tumanov, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work, welcomed the first-year students with an opening speech.

“Good afternoon, dear first-year students and guests! Today we have gathered to sum up the results of great work that have been done throughout the preparation for the festival of faculties. I wish you to enjoy the concert and witness that Gubkin University is a place of self-expression and perspective!” – noted Mr. Anton Tumanov.

Following the results of the competition, the jury awarded the best performers in the following categories:

• best dance performer – Mr. Ilya Voronin and Mr. Mikhail Sushkov (Faculty of Oil and Gas Field Development), Mr. Vladislav Kaplya and Ms. Anna Sidorova (Faculty of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics), Mr. Yaroslav Khanevsky (Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering), Mr. Alexander Terentyev (Faculty of Design, Construction and Exploitation of Pipeline Transport Systems) and dance team led by Mr. Alexander Mishin
• best vocal performer – Ms. Violetta Shafieva (Faculty of Design, Construction and Exploitation of Pipeline Transport Systems) and a dance studio led by Ms. Olga Bocharnikovs
• best instrumental performer – Mr. Vladislav Goldybin, Ms. Anastasia Maltseva and Mr. Vladimir Yalovoy (Faculty of Design, Construction and Exploitation of Pipeline Transport Systems), Ms. Dara Mitypova and Ms. Anastasia Kulaeva (Faculty of Integrated Security of the Fuel and Energy Complex), Mr. Ilya Maslov (Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering) and the Barabanda drum studio led by Mr. Eric Abdrakhmanov and Mr. Maxim Zemzyulin
• best faculty dance performer – Faculty of Design, Construction and Exploitation of Pipeline Transport Systems
