Open Day in Tashkent – ​​2025

On May 17, 2025, the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) held an Open Day, which was attended by more than three hundred future applicants of the 2025 admission campaign and their relatives. In addition to those who attended the event in person, about five hundred more guests from all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the event online. As part of the event program, the organizers offered future students both official speeches and simple communication with teachers and students.

The warm May weather that day harmoniously combined with the atmosphere inside the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) named after I.M. Gubkin in Tashkent. Participants from more than 70 schools in Tashkent and the Tashkent region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions arrived for the Open Day. After the meeting, the guests were taken on a campus tour, where they were able to see with their own eyes what a modern university is like, and the conditions in which students study and live. Well-equipped educational laboratories, training facilities, an innovative research center - future students studied their future university with interest.

The main part of the program took place in the branch's assembly hall, where a film about the university was shown to the audience, revealing the mission, goals, and capabilities of the university and the branch in Tashkent. The executive director of the branch, Abdulla Magrupov, made a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of training qualified personnel for the oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan, the role of the branch as the flagship of engineering education in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Then, the responsible secretary of the admissions committee, Viktor Telkov, made a report on the topic "Information on admission to the branch in 2025". During the speech, the audience was familiarized with the conditions for admission, deadlines for submitting documents, features of entrance examinations, as well as with the possibilities for applicants from different regions of Uzbekistan.

The next stage of the event was the presentations of the branch graduates of different years. Hayot Ibragimov spoke about his work at the university after receiving his diploma, about his further professional career. Evgeny Evstafeev told about his student years first in Tashkent, then in Moscow and a new stage of development as a specialist as a teacher of the branch. Svetlana Dobychina, simultaneously with preparation for the defense of her master's thesis in Moscow, told the audience about the advantages of the university in obtaining higher engineering education, wished the guys good luck when entering. The stories of Gubkin graduates aroused great interest among the guests, showing that the right attitude to student work will always be rewarded many times over.

The central episode of the event was the ceremonial awarding of the winners and prize-winners of the Gubkin Subject Olympiad held for the first time in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Diplomas and certificates were awarded to the winners and prize-winners, as recognition of their talent, hard work and desire for new knowledge. Words of gratitude were expressed to parents, school and lyceum directors for their contribution to the education of the Olympiad winners and prize winners.

In the second part of the event, the organizers introduced the guests to the departments and educational departments of the branch in an informal setting: "Technologies of Geological and Geophysical Exploration", "Drilling Oil and Gas Wells", "Development of Oil, Gas and Gas Condensate Fields", "Design, Construction and Operation of Pipeline Transport Systems", "Economics of Oil and Gas".

The final stage of the event was individual consultations, where everyone could get clarification on admission issues, training programs and internship opportunities at work.
